    25th Anniversary-cum-Fundraising Dinner

    Join our 25th Anniversary-cum-Fundraising Dinner on 2nd October 2010 at GURNEY HOTEL for an entertaining evening and delicious 8 course meal. The event is both to celebrate as well as fund raising for WCC’s new building so that we can do more for abused women and children.

    Come eat, enjoy and support a worthy cause for WCC!



    Highlights of the evening :

    7:00pm – 8:00pm: Pre-Dinner

    • Silent Auction- Attractive items such as jewellery, air tickets and tour packages will auctioned off

    • One-woman Show by the versatile Jo Kukathas of the Instant Cafe Theater Company. Jo has acted, directed and produced many local plays and stage performances such as Road Trip and Air Con.

    • Sing My Sister, Sing – A special dance performance that depicts women’s journey from victim to survivor and the support needed from both men and women to end all forms of violence & discrimination against women.

    • Ghosbusters ala’ WCC– A creative song drama by WCC’s volunteers and members

    • WCC’s Success Story: A video on how WCC has enriched women, children and people’s lives

    Help WCC acquire a new building (sponsorship)

    Why donate?

    WCC is planning to acquire a 3 storey building in Jalan Burmah at a cost of RM 1.5 million. We have bigger dreams- this building will help enhance our counselling services, develop more programmes for children and youth, conduct skills training for single mothers and start an income generating thrift shop for WCC.

    For 25 years, WCC has been providing services to thousands of women and children, giving hope and changing lives. In 2009, WCC was able to help over 1,200 women. We also initiated a Rape Support Network with the Penang Hospital to support rape victims. Aside from that, WCC’s community outreach reached out to over 6,000 people- children, youths, teachers and the general public to raise awareness on violence prevention and women’s issues.

    WCC has achieved all this with only 8 staff and many dedicated members and volunteers. We operate from a terrace house at 24-D Jalan Jones, Pulau Tikus. Our office is too cramped with our current range work. We want to do more for abused women and children.

    How you can help raise money for WCC’s new building:
